What a pleasure to try this on and give it a loupe look-over! Certainly something to see in person, if possible. Notice the cork strap! Alligator will be phased out soon for GF watches, is what I was told. It's about 13mm thick, 39.6mm wide. The finishing...  

I recognize the technical mastery of GF watches but could never imagine wearing one. They just don't appeal to me. Cazalea

I think they can come off as a bit of a mess.

Maybe something simple like a Patek 3039HP ;-)

The enamel parts don't integrate that well, I think. And the hands feel a little lost. By the way, are the hands actually blue, as shown on the GF website? Of these three, the second is my favorite for the harmony of its technical and aesthetic qualities.... 

The hands are flame blued and go from almost black to electric blue when they catch the light. The GMT is really quite busy as well. Agreed, the simplest watch maybe is the most wearable one.

Must be quite the experience to see this in real life!

It's super well finished in person, of course. Agreed on relative value. Plus, the hand made is about preserving the skills to make such a watch, which has a value all its own.

The simpler Greubel Forsey Balancier Contemporain pictured is the 39.5mm watch.

Not that I could buy one though.

Other than the million Swiss Franc reason! Hand made (however that term is defined) watches tend to be thick and sometimes wide.

As for the Hand Made1, I remember seeing a YouTube documentary about the creation of this piece, and it clearly shows that the plates and gears are CNC cut then manually finished. So at this level and price I feel that the term “Hand Made”, is used a bit ... 

Can't say which is true and I agree that CNC'd parts aren't quite as Hand Made as might be claimed.

...but are just too big for most people, including me and my 7.25" wrist. I would love to see them do a slim, time-only watch that costs less than an S-Class Mercedes... Other sources have the watch at 43.5mm so not small by any means. I would also like t... 

I flubbed the width of the Hand Made 1. I will say in real life...the Hand Made is also not that legible!

...and the Balancier is 39.6mm x 12.21mm...better. I just wish they hadn't written a novel on the back of that one. I'm buying a watch, not a book : )
