The "dials" are all stationary in the positions you see them on the dial pictured.
The dials are all synchronized via the center wheel which is on a cannon.
It's fantastic in person.

I really find this watch fantastic: Triad by PSM
By: foversta : April 11th, 2013-13:59
The Triad by Peter Speake-Marin. I saw the prototype last year and I loved the concept. Now the watch is unveiled, I'm totally under the charm even if I would have preferred less words on the inner bezel. I can't wait to see it in the metal! Here is the P...
So... wait a minute (uh... three minutes)

This one-ups the Resonance. I can imagine PSM sitting with a glass of wine, by a dew speckled window sill... twilight hour... Two, he thinks... this has been done, to great success. What... about... THREE!!!??? Kind of genius, if you ask me. And slightly ...
Nice way of putting it

It just seems an odd position for the dials to be in...I would expect perfect symmetry. You wouldn't see as resonance designed with the two dials at 1 & 7 for example. Still a nice piece though. Yours, Andy.
Why the expectation for perfect symmetry?

What then of the Lange 1 and the GO Pano range? What is off or not off about them? Just curious about the rationale behind your comment.
You have a point, Arthur.

I would have loved to see the three hours truning, to go one step ahead in the madness... ;) Best, Nicolas
I'll try to explain....
By: Andy : April 13th, 2013-03:25
but first I'll explain why your two examples are very different to the Speak piece... The Lange 1 has 4 seperate components to the dial...time dial, seconds dial, date and power reserve. None of which are similar and impossible to give symmetry too but th...
A very considered view Andy

and one that I can respect. Thank you for this. You bring up very arguments on why symmetry may not work for the Lange 1 and Pano range, arguments that I did not pay heed to prior. Thank you for the ongoing education. Regards to PG's triple rotor, I see w...

In the same way that I like the 3 gold bridges of Girard Perregaux or the 3 gold rotors of Gerber's model 42 (P10 watch). The offset of the dials works very well. To be exactly symmetrical would ruin the poetry of the overall dial. Some may argue that thi...

Fun idea; it seems the watch market is moving more and more to a breed of 'conceptualist' watches: more artistically inclined rather than complication or escapement driven. And there should be space in the market for such experiments. Just find all the te...
