It baffles me…

…how any criticism of the brand is immediately spun as trolling or a personal vendetta. Of course he makes all the decisions so it sure reflects his way of doing business and presenting his brand.

And you can definitely not blame any language barrier for this misunderstanding of handmade and simply bought CNC parts. Try to find this post. You won’t. Just as any other of the recent ones obviously since they are deleted. All that is left will be the “handmade” saga of Rexhepi. And again nothing personal but I don’t see any other motivation of this “reboot” and judging by their behavior in the past, I’d say it’s right on the money.

Or it’s just an server error but I doubt it.
And don’t get me wrong, I don’t need anyone to support my opinion, I am just putting the information out there and you can do with that whatever you like. Discard it if you like. I have said everything on that topic.

Tell me you're shady, without telling me you're shady....

Akrivia deleted all their posts. Reminds me of the time they deleted all their posts stating "handmade" or "100% in-house" when in fact their movements came from the leftovers of BNB Concept. Now they seem to move on to actual in-house production and once...

I don’t think Akrivia are shady at all

By: Mohannad (aka Riddler) : August 13th, 2021-11:57
It’s well known that they used BNB movements they never denied it Shady is really not in context here

Spin it however you want…

 By: watching00000 : August 13th, 2021-12:42
They started selling their BNB movements as handmade and in house, I still have the screenshots of it somewhere. That is shady and they started deleting those descriptions on Instagram and their website when the first blogs started writing that it’s a BNB...

You are making rather serious accusations

I prefer to think that it's a company's business to decide how it wants to engage with the market, and who it wants to serve, and how it wants to make products and then promote them to the world. Of course, that's because I spent 40+ years working in smal...

It’s the companies decision and it says a lot

 By: watching00000 : August 13th, 2021-12:41
First of all, it’s a VPN and i don’t have anything personal against them. Why spinning it that way? But I witnessed how they deleted content they labeled handmade and in-house while using external movements, just to justify their story. I still have these...

So what needs to happen to resolve 'this issue'? Put everything back and then what?

Nothing has to happen from my perspective

 By: watching00000 : August 13th, 2021-13:45
I like their design, I like their current finishing but stuff like this feels off. I just don’t get it. But then again, I don’t need to.

I reckon they were hacked and lost all their content Insta is terrible at the

I do not know the details of this...

 By: mdg : August 13th, 2021-14:24
...but a couple of years ago me and my friend took Rexhep and his girlfriend out to lunch when he was in town. He was a humble and gracious guy...so my impression of him personally is very good.

And again…

 By: watching00000 : August 13th, 2021-15:58
Never mentioned anything about his personality or demeanor. If you think that this is proof enough for someone to conduct a transparent and upright business, I would recommend a bit more research instead of trusting the humble appearance of a person. I so...

This is what the did the first time…

with deleting descriptions first and then the posts were gone. Now it’s seems they need a more radical reboot. Even his personal profile is cleaned. Why? I have never seen this from any watchmaker or brand. And of course again, there are people who will a...

First generation movement parts were sourced from supplier like any small watch brand…

 By: mahesh : August 13th, 2021-15:57
All components were hand finished and assembled in the atelier of akrivia. Now they’re migrating to produce case and movement components in-house…dials are still external but hand chiseled on some models in the atelier. I know them quite well

Fine by me

 By: watching00000 : August 13th, 2021-16:13
And as you correctly state, as many small brands do. But those small brands do not promote their watches by stating those would be handmade. Akrivia did. while getting their CNC produced components out-house. What’s the use of this clean slate reboot? Why...

But it should be also in everyone’s interest (who loves this art) to standup for truth and prevent false and deceiving marketing claims from completely taking over. This is usually the beginning of the end. But I agree: Everyone should make his own inform...

I actually agree with what you say.

Complex issue

 By: Cookies : August 13th, 2021-19:26
I was reading this post from time to time. It opened a pandoras box in my mind. Here are my thoughts: 1) What is handmade? Who ordains the stamp of handmade standards in Switzerland? 2) What is the motivation of the post? Is it to whistle-blow, is it to n...

Complex issue for sure

 By: Cozmopak : August 13th, 2021-19:36
I have zero personal vendetta against the brand. I can't speak to the motivations of the original poster. But I agree with his sentiment that the designation of handmade is too liberally applied in many instances. Of course, everyone can have their own in...

Yes this is well said

I agree too about the “unregulated” definition of handmade. Yes he has a point. Somehow, I feel if a gifted journalist/lawyer/politician type were to write this post, it would have a very different effect - perhaps topics like this are challenging to writ...

that is frustration. Frustration that obviously most people are more concerned about the motive behind the discussion, rather than actually partake in the discussion. I even presented why I see this move not as a "let's bring some order to my companies In...

And I, for one, share your perspective

The reason I questioned your motives

Is because, like most inflammatory posters, whether we agree with you or not, you have a track record of 44 posts (including today’s discussion) in 4 years. And that, my friend, means you are not much of a participant in a community, but rather an agitato...

You are correct that infrequent posters are not often agitators, but most agitators are infrequent posters

 By: cazalea : August 14th, 2021-00:21
Who usually post on the same subject, on other forums, at the same time, and who have an axe to grind. As moderators it’s our job to keep agitation to a minimum, and reasonable discussion to the maximum. Thanks, Cazalea

Keep living in your bubble.

"Agitator" and "inflammatory posters" - do you moderators even listen to yourself anymore? Keep living in your clean bubble and blindly consume what you are fed. Account deleted.

Shame that you deleted your account

 By: Cozmopak : August 14th, 2021-00:48
I completely disagree with some of the negative opinions expressed toward you. You are in no way an agitator in my view

Thank you

 By: watching00000 : August 14th, 2021-01:00
For understanding my perspective on the topic. I requested that my account will be deleted because moderators labeling this discussion as agitation or inflammatory renders this platform irrelevant for me. No one in their right mind after actually reading ...

Well, as someone who is "on the list" for the CC2, here's my take.

 By: BigFatPauli : August 13th, 2021-16:25
I have an email from Annabelle, Rexhep's partner who takes care of the front of the house, saying that I've been given an allocation of the CC2. This was in September 2019. We did email a few times after that, but then she stopped responding. I know of tw...

There most be a logical explanation for this .

I know them for years now and am a happy owner of a CC1 , there communication is always on point to me personally and even a few months back Rexhep called me to ask if i and my family were ok etc . Just a random chat . Don’t think any other ,,Big Brand ,,...

hand made, in house, swiss made etc is used a bit too liberally. quite a few companies are guilty but for some reason only a few get blasted like bremont. i don't know of many companies that state that their movement is actually just a lightly modified eb...

I have heard a while back that Akrivia’s IG account was managed in fact by one of their dealers in the US.

 By: Spencer Karrington : August 13th, 2021-23:50
Is so normal that we barely even notice it anymore. There so few watchmakers that actually make their watches completely by hand and even those are not very clear about how much is hand made. One thing that I wish for in the industry is a lot more clarity...
