I like everything about this piece EXCEPT.......
The Soccer on the bezel. It’s football, people, football!! FIFA has 211 member nations and almost every one of them correctly calls the game football. Soccer is like Voldemort - it should not be named. I always thought it was us dumb yanks who came up with soccer, I was heartbroken to learn it has its derivatives in England. But I digress, irrespective of origin IT’S FOOTBALL, PEOPLE!! The world’s game.

The colours for this Joker, the red with the gold case, are very appealing. I’m not sure I like the novelty of the theme (strange to say given the base is a novelty itself!).

You are quite correct in your first statement
It came from the Brit’s desire to shorten and separate their two types of football: Rugby Football became “ Rugger” and Association Football became “Soccer”. As for your second statement, that’s left to the eye of the beholder 😀 NickO
