I agree - seems like a perpetual calendar with a different name

Does anyone know what the difference is between the perpetual calendar and the cca?
I like the white version the best, but I'm concerned about the legibility of white hands against a white dial. Also, while I don't doubt the ingenuity that went into the calendar design, it's double the price of the annual calendar yet not customizable.

There is a new calendar watch, which does not need resetting for 100 years: Info can be found here: / There is also a new weekday display watch, limited to 33 pieces: Info here: / Love the complication on the calendar and the colors on the weekday displ...

The Genius is hard at work, with 2 new calendar models

but the Settimania in 3 different colors is actually a remake of their first watch, perhaps appropriate as a new "rebirth" of the company. Here's mine from .... August 2009 Really?! Can it be more than a decade ago? Cazalea ...

I had no idea the Settimania was O&J's first watch

Thank you for the information, and lovely watch!

Well now that I think of it, there were several "first generation" watches. Let's say "one of their first" watches

I guess it depends who's counting what to determine an O&J. The MIH was and wasn't, depending on your point of view. And there was one with a Paul Gerber movement that didn't really go anywhere saleswise.

But this is a departure from ETA movements

These ones are powered by Sellita SW 200 movements.

I know I complain about watch companies doing this...

but could Ochs & Junior bring back the Settimana as regular production? A really nice watch at a good price point. The 100 year month-day has a great technical look to it.

A valid complaint

I think a lot of watch enthusiasts would start seriously looking at O&J just for the Settimana if it were in regular production. It is a unique complication with a unique aesthetic style, and in regular production it would be incredibly customizable. ...

Looks really good!

But I can't find details of case thickness in the website. Did I missed it? Seems like they are not customizable too.

It's there, hidden in plain sight

The 100 year calendar is 40mm by 11mm, and the settimana is 36mm by 10.8mm It doesn't seem as though either are customizable at this point. As the Settimana is limited, I don't think it ever will be. I'd imagine that the 100 year calendar will be customiz...

Thanks!

Must be the booze clouding my eyesight!😅

I think one of the weaknesses of O und Jr was excessive customization

 By: cazalea : December 24th, 2020-20:35
That’s both good and bad - customers like it and it seems “creative” to oxidize dials and tan sturgeons into straps. But I suspect Ludwig would consider his complications of more value than offering a brass date dot vs a white one. This is just my opinion...

Agree that there are both pros and cons

 By: xiu laba : December 24th, 2020-23:19
It does differentiate O&J from others when they can allow customization AND also provide horological creativity to customers. I don't see any other brands offering both of these in the package. But a tool is only as good as the user and if you have good d...

I wish there was a way for ouj to bring back Beat

He was like ouj’s Steve Jobs to Ludwig’s Woz. ...I am having trouble understanding how the new “cca” compares with the perpetual calendar.

I agree

the "cca" was already developped about two years ago when Beat was still there. I believe one reason why Beat left were big differences about the design of the watch. All parts were already ordered and partially delivered by the summer of 2019 - then ther...
