Wedding Gift Ideas...
Hello, all. My parents want to buy my future brother-in-law a watch as a wedding gift. They said the budget will be between $6K-$7K. My BIL seems to have an affinity for chronographs and prefers straps over bracelets. He's on the thinner side and could probably handle up to a 42mm case. He's not a watch enthusiast - he said he's never spent more than $300 on a watch - but he does appreciate how much money my parents will be spending and we all want him to have something that he'll like and be able to use for the rest of his life.
What would you guys choose given the criteria? I would love to get some ideas before hitting the pavement with him and looking at them in the metal. Any ideas/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

How about JLC?
You can get the Master Control chrono NIB from an authorized dealer for a few hundred over 7k. Hard to beat JLC in terms of dressy watches. The JLC that I own (a master compressor geographic) is the most accurate watch that I own. Good luck.

For a non-watch guy, you probably need to buy him a watch with strong branding
that has spent millions of dollars on advertising. If you get him a brand he's never heard of, I feel he won't like the watch much. That's the reality of it. So, my suggestion would just be an Omega or Rolex. It would be awesome to introduce him to other ...
If he's a non-WIS then...
...go with a brand name. Most people have no idea about watches other than maybe Omega, Rolex and Patek. The Patek will obviously not be in the price range for the gift. Cheers, Daos
