One is the fairly well known SUS Military with the 4S15 movement. An overall charming beater with sturdy movement and a finish forgiving of daily wear.

The other is an S-Wave of inferior quality of finish on case, dial and movement, but a charmer nontheless IMO. I like the purple dial and orange/red seconds hand and the unusual day display (option of three letter english nomination or roman numerals with Mon=I up to Sat=IV and Sun is the red square in the picture). As you can see, it is in desperate need of a strap. I have always felt a bit sorry for watches without straps or bracelets, they seem so naked, no? In order to compensate a little, I gave it a funky background (a handpainted Indian silk saree - the one that inspired Stepan Sarpaneva to his Moon, but don't reveal that to anyone
)

And the Seikos I now want after reading this thread? I must say I am absolutely smitten by the newer GS:
