I use my CTS in the gym as well
The chrono function is very much useful and the watch as you stated is super light and also thin so the risk of banging it is very much reduced
I believe that the FPJ is a perfect Gym watch for you . Its a great watch imo
But i cant wear any watch to the gym , although i am at the gym aprox 5 times a week (so not only a watch addict 😉) i spend a lot of my time ,,Naked,, . ...

Much like watchonthewrist, I also go 'naked'. Everything else gets in the way.
If somebody made me wear something, I guess I would take *gulp* the apple watch, purely for the sensors.
