They're very similar and yet very different watches at vastly different price points, I'd imagine.

The question you have to ask yourself is how important is the split-seconds functionality to you and do you appreciate it enough, horologically speaking, to justify paying the premium. Keep in mind that it is a limited edition, which in itself will command a premium. If it's the blue face you like, the common trait between the two, then I would choose the regular Portugieser. But if money is not an issue and you're looking for something more special, then by all means go for the Rattrapante.

I completely agree with your thoughts and choice frankly I have no use for the split seconds function though the red hands look smart on the dial also the price point of the split seconds is different so I will go with the regular edition. Thanks
