it's better to be feared than loved so for the watch companies, it's better to be loathed than loved, to make us wait than be served! Dang, we should be on the sell side!

call me lunatic but the lugs issue can be solved in my opinion IF the manufacturers came out with a plastic thingy to be placed on the lug, that's when a strap is being changed the thingy takes all the scratching. Faisal

...it's called Sticky Tape (Sellotape, Scotchtape, pressure-sensitive adhesive). If your service-person isn't doing something to protect the lugs when changing straps...I'd be pretty concerned.

the tape on after but what about when you're removing it? I mean the regular lugs, not the ROOs or Pannies.

or tight strap-to-lug gap, I usually tape as deeply into the lug as I can, as close to the springbar hole as possible, as well as taping the end of the removal tool. Minimising metal to metal contact.

Faisal is to design a strap tool with rounded ends. That shouldn't be too hard when we have ceramic ball bearings and silicium escapements.

in particular with 1 and 2 since I change my straps frequently and did end up with scratches around the lugs ;-( I would also add better QC - things like badly painted hands, bezel alignment on rotating bezels, flaws on the dial, in particular application...
