Faisal is to design a strap tool with rounded ends. That shouldn't be too hard when we have ceramic ball bearings and silicium escapements.

...it's called Sticky Tape (Sellotape, Scotchtape, pressure-sensitive adhesive). If your service-person isn't doing something to protect the lugs when changing straps...I'd be pretty concerned.
