Horological Meandering

What kind of watch do you think will go well with a Burgundy strap? YG case, platinum case? I'm seriously thinking of having a Burgundy strap for my Journe Resonance. My Resonance has a shiny yellow gold dial, do you think the Burgundy will go better than...  

Burgundy has worked well with Journe's Ti watches and I suspect it'd work just as well with the Pt/yellow Resonance...it'd definitely spice up your Resonance in a tasteful way...

The is a great watch and it deserve something sharp. The black strap will be "safe" but rather common. The dark brown isn't going to be "sufficient" for it to complement the lovely dial. Do show us the combination when you have it dressed up. /W72

I think burgundy will work well with the Resonance. However, if you want to be subtle but yet uniquely different from others, why not try a dark green strap? Looks black but definitely not black. I like mine a lot! ...

it looks a bit too' loud' for me. I just want something that takes a bit of attention away from the dial. thought of dark brown but seems a bit boring.... now with the burgundy strap and darken it further...I may be able to achieve something like a dark b...

Great early YG dial, John. The colours and design are bold enough to carry a burgundy strap. I would comment that different shades of the blue and burgundy straps have been produced so, like your dial, make sure you find the colour that suits you. My pers...  

The blue strap on your tourbillion is simply perfect. I like it subtle. I love the black strap with the YG dial as it makes the dial pops. But sometime I feel that it focuses too much on the dial. Something on the strap may make the experience a bit more ... 

I would prefer the black strap with the YG dial and the blue with WG, myself. Best Andreas

... multiple tang buckles to really simplify the change. I also have quick release straps and it is great to avoid scratches on lugs, but it is not as 'quick' a process to change straps as you might hope. Andrew

Beautiful watch and distinctive I think the Band in terms of material and color does not affect much on the beauty of this particular brand, as the Dial and the Case and the machine are the most beautiful characteristic of this watch, is always seen imagi... 

...blue would be a great choice. Gold of dial would color-complement and the blue hands matching would be the icing on the cake. :-)

I'm still learning, John, and you made me look up neatsfoot oil. Extracted from shinbones of cattle (neats = cow) and liquid at room temperature. Used since the 18th century to condition leather. Modern versions often extracted from lard and can darken le...

but it dries fast and when you rub it into the leather, you won't feel it anymore :-) It's a great oil if you want your strap to feel 'used' and soft. I never like new strap so I can see myself applying this oil on all my new straps in future. If you only...
