That is amazing. The watch keeps going, just becomes sweep seconds rather than stop seconds like quartz. How does the remontoir know to disengage or does the lack of wind on the spring just not give it enough power to function? I thought your watch was cool Andrew, I now think it is incredibly super cool 
I love hearing about how these movements work. The amazing things that can be done to tell time without the help of a battery never ceases to amaze me. And to top it off I find out Journe sets his power reserve meters opposite to somewhat standard convention. Having never held a Journe watch in my hands I did not know this. I leave this discussion more educated than when I entered

It IS incredibly super cool! :-)
At least I think so. You can go deeper and deeper into the engineering and still marvel at the way the remontoir works in concert with the tourbillon escapement. There is a long remontoir spring, visible on the reverse of the movement, which is tensioned ...

It is definately the whole package
The loud 1 Hz remontoir 'tick' superimposed on the 3 Hz escapement 'tick tock' is a lovely sound. Quite easily discernible on the wrist in a quiet environment. Thanks for the reminder - a lovely part of the watch. Andrew
