I have personally thought that the person doing the regulation is what it all came down to, which, in my experience talking to owners of the 2 most lucrative brands (Rolex and Omega), I've repeatedly heard people say, "My Rolex watches have better bragging rights, but my Omegas always keep better time." With 2 mostly machine-assembled movement brands, I know that the regulation still comes down to some individuals at the end of the line. I've often wondered, "Who does Omega have that trains their reulateurs to set the watches so well?" I had an Omega Hour Vision for 2 years when the 8500 first came out (in steel), and averaged only +2 sec/week. I was amazed.
