I am planning to visit Tokyo late next month to early August.  I will seek that model/ piece - would you mind PM me as for whereabout I should look around?  It's been too long that I will not be so familiar with watch shopping geography.

18 months ago, thanks to a good friend who went to Tokyo, I acquired the Grand Seiko SBGM003. I wrote a review three or four months after the acquisition, you can read the review here . In fact, since then I know 8 others who have bought this exact Grand ...

I love this watch! Congratulations and thanks for the nice story!!! Marcelo

Unfortunately you shouldn’t get on of these if you live in Brazil.

Since it seems you have to send it to Japan to be serviced, and knowing Brazilian customs like I do, it’s probable that they would charge the owner for import taxes when it comes back. Marcelo

thanks SJX!

They're really pretty hard to beat. I still love mine and have to get around to overhauling it some day. I'll take some pictures of course when I do. _john

however, i found that the black dial didnt show the watch off to its best. i've since sold it on with a view to getting a handwind at some stage. i've got 2 handwind vintage GS's and just like the feel of the winding. the whole range is fabulous and if as...

I saw that a few months ago and it seemed unnaturally large for a Grand Seiko

It is just as conservative as before, but bigger. A lot bigger. - SJX

Andrew, nice to see you...

Andrew, nice to see you again yesterday. this GS would be a wonderful choice IMO. Seiko have always been the kings of hi beat and the GS is the King of Kings. i have their 1960's 45 calibre hi beat GS hand wind which is superb although being late 60's the...

GREAT writeup and shots of an often overlooked piece of horology that just hits the spot, for me at least. NO regrets on getting mine and its almost a year now too! Too bad about the recent price markup as I had been itching to add a Titanium GS. Still th...

and I still enjoy wearing it. I still get compliments from people who don't know anything about watches. I've shown it to some ADs and they just can't get over the quality of it. Only very few of them have even heard of Grand Seiko, though. I've got the e...
