Please just be careful whatever you do next, this is probably my best suggestion. Your watch is hardly in Milano now, chances are it was immediately moved to either Southern Italy or Eastern Europe (though of course anything can be).
The last thing you want now is to end up in much worse shape. Criminals of that sort (especially in a very weak state like Italy) wouldn't think twice to 1) try to rob you of a few extra bucks; 2) make you assume room temperature; or 3) (their favorite) both. Take care my friend.
