So Marc and yours truly walk into an Omega AD yesterday that he's recently . . .

. . . done business with. I was there to scout an AT annual calendar for myself, but mainly to give my pal an assist with technical know-how and 'buddy-system' negotiating leverage.
The clever devils have GS positioned right before the Omega section - they know their market!
As we're walking towards the Omega section, I spied the GS in a corner of a display case with at least forty others. It immediately captured my attention. But we're there to discuss Omegas, so we met up with a sales lady in Omega-land. First we discussed the AT annual I've had my eye on for years.

Basically, their bottom line was way above my top line, so I said, "We can't make a deal - we're too far apart." Then Marc veered the discussion towards Omegas he was looking for. We had the sales lady pull several Omegas out, doubtlessly suffering our inane watch-geek twaddle as we debated the merits of each.
Half an hour goes by, with Marc not nibbling at anything in earnest. He turns to me and says, "Is there anything else you wanted to see, Art? Patek? Chopard?"
Sensing an opportunity, I pointed to the SBGH279 in the GS display case.
"That one."
So after retrieving it and a few similar models, I fixed the sales lady with my steely gaze.
"Any discounts on GS?"
She mumbled, looked at her boss, then turned and said, "Yes." Whipped out a calculator, punched in numbers, and came up with a figure.
I paused.
"How about a little less?" (I gave her a number.)
Without missing a beat, she entered the number I gave her into the calculator, and showed it to us.
"Ok?", she asked.
So I walked out a little lighter in the pocket with the GS on my wrist. And nothing could've been further from my mind an hour before.
