I use a dremel and finish with cape cod cloths

for the smooth parts, for the brushed part I use the finest grit available and a titanium refinishing pen.

Watchmakers have to undergo months-long (or possibly years-long) trainings, it's a job that I doubt you'll be able to learn successfully on your own simply by asking for advice on the web..

If you are being serious about this, then at least I'd advise you not to start with a watch you care about, since chances are you'll have to toss it at the end of the experiment...Please post the results here! ;-)
