Intrigued by the divisions on the chrono scale into 3min intervals before reaching the 10 min index. Does anyone know what they were used for? Surely not for boiling eggs on the ground and in the sky. amerix

No military backgroubnd for those....
...it's for timing telephone units - that time it were divided in three minute intervalls for long distance calls. You'll find them on a large variety of chronos of this period. Best regards Suitbert

To my knowledge, Universal never made a flyback in the "..compax" series of models, so we'll never know if they would have counted it as a separate complication. In any case, I'm happy to include an AL&S Datograph in any darned category it wants to be in!
