Nomos are great...

 

I have a Nomos Sport, which I wear a lot.  I like stealth watches, and at 36.5mm the size suits me just fine.  As SJX says they have brought out some larger models that keep the same styling and design principles.  However, the classic Nomos models have very fine bezels and so appear larger than they really are.

Extremely accurate (just under a second a day).  Excellent value for money.  And the Shell Cordovan strap is surreal in the way it resists sweat and wear!

If you're after one with a fancy coloured dial then you MUST see it in the flesh first.  Some of the colours are veeerrrrrryyyy "special", and some of the unusual hand/dial combinations are vitrually unreadable (on the other hand, the classic blue on silver is highly legible).

Somebody asked me the opinion of Otium compared to Schaeur. I kept on feeling that the comparison is not right, but I couldn't figure out what's the right comparison to Otium. Until I dug my file and saw these 2 Nomos. Same price level as Otium, both come...

I thought the Nomos that I posted were fancy enough? Are the movement really "in-house"? cen@jkt

than Otium, but the Otium is all about the dial and reading the time. the movement although essential is of far less importance. its an ETA, what you see is what you get. the Nomos is functional and well finished, the Otium is funky. personally i think it...
