Horological Meandering

My first (and only) bronze watch.

And it is one not so common : the Rado Captain Cook!

Well ,Rado is all about black ceramic design watches without a lot of horological interest?
That was my assumption of the brand before they released the Captain Cook inspired by a 60's model.

Here we have a watch with some vintage charm but with all the goodies offered by the Swatch group : curved ceramic bezel, domed sapphire and dial and a great overall finish.

The watch comes in an AU alloy that will trigger a more controlled patina (similar to what Tudor does) .

As opposed to the steel models, the bronze versions have raised indices and brushed hands which create a better 3D effect.

A special mention to the very well executed case.

The movement is the ETA Powermatic 80 with a superb accuracy : in my case +4 sec/week !!!

My conclusion : a superb offer from Rado at an astonishing price/quality ratio.

Thanks for looking,
Gerard
