Horological Meandering

Hi all, help needed please for the identification of this movement used by Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta in the nineties. Apparently this caliber is used now by Bulgari in the new Octo Minute Repeater, anyone knows where this movement come from and who rea...

So are you assuming that Genta commissioned one of the big company like JLC or FP or etc etc to develop this movement for him? I think is plausible as well..I will be curious to know who made it for him...Thanks..Alex

Dear Cirotti, greetings from Caracas, the movement your looking at is the DR 600 ,based on a Gerald Genta 13.000 with a power reserve of 45 hours and a thickness of 3.22 mm. This movement was used in the Grand Sonnerie 99 with a Tourbillon device. I belie... 

I think the Octo is whole based on this old movement, they just made it more resistant to shocks...Since Bulgari acquired Roth group they must have had spare movement to work at....cheers..Alex

Daniel Roth NEVER ever used an own movement, own moduls and decoration yes, but not the whole movement is theirs. They used mainly GP movements, but sometimes Zenith and Frederique Piquet, and even Lemania. The movement on the picture is an older ( base )... 

thanks for the reply....I think you are right....after many hours of research(with no solution yet) the pocket watch idea must be right one...I will start to investigate in this way...cheers Alex
