Mathey-Tissot
I have this from a story about Madame Cinette Robert. They wrote about there personal history from child until owner from dubey & schaldenbrand
(writen in chronos 3 - 2004). There they wrote, what i told in my post (and also for girad-perregaux). Mathey-Tissot was specialist in realy high value movements at that time. They produced minute repiter and perpetual calender.
But for the raeson, that there is no missunderstanding - i give you the original text (ingerman language)

as for the date - NO..!! Even I don't like the date at 4.30 on the master chronograph for 2 reasons 1) It unbalances the dial and 2) It is at a funny angle which I hate on all date displays at that position on a dial. Other than that it is a great piece.....

i think as long as you try not to repeat movement calibres you wont open too big a Pandora's box there are a lot of very good chrono's with the same calibre's inside so find the one you like most and ignore the rest...................if you can. best G...
You get a chrono with one of those tried and true Valjouxs...
...and you won't have expensive service issues, either. It's a win-win situation all the way around.

AFAIK, Tissot and Mathey Tissot are two different entities.
And yes, I agree with you that Tissot made some beautiful watches in a sadly far past. Yours is a superb example, as well as the Tissot Navigator, a kind of World Time watch with a timeless look. Grandiose, as we say in France. Best, Nicolas.

Great dial on this one Nico
It has a beautiful balance to it. Valjoux is a great movement and has the advantage of not being impossible on parts. An uncommon valjoux for a cognoscenti.
