Definitely, this Mathey Tissot has the allure of a great chronograph, with all the key codes of the timeless examples we know. A generous size for the Fifties ( somewhere between 37 and 38 mm ) A clean dial, where legibility is the most important point, w...
I can easily understand your point of view, then. As I know you understand me. Thanks, my friend. I'm hunting the Mathey Tissot Type XX, now, just to do the pair. Best, Nicolas.
I fell on several, but I passed on them... It was, all the time, a question of patina. I wanted a more pronounced one. One day, I'll find it! Best, my lucky fellow. Nicolas.
as for the date - NO..!! Even I don't like the date at 4.30 on the master chronograph for 2 reasons 1) It unbalances the dial and 2) It is at a funny angle which I hate on all date displays at that position on a dial. Other than that it is a great piece.....
i think as long as you try not to repeat movement calibres you wont open too big a Pandora's box there are a lot of very good chrono's with the same calibre's inside so find the one you like most and ignore the rest...................if you can. best G...
My Tissot. I had it serviced recently. The watchmaker thought it was a Tissot own movement, is that possible? I do know that he couldn't get parts and had to fabricate a new spring for the chrono mechanism. It has no anti-shock so I assume it's from the 1...
many many people whink they are, but Tissot are an old Swiss brand who have been owned by Omega since the late 1930's (according to 1 book i read), Mathey Tissot on the other hand are French and i believe family owned. or were until their demise. i would ...
Mathey-Tissot also was located in switzerland in the town "Les Ponts-de-Martel". And also in the early time of company there had been often confusion with the company Tissot in the town "Le Locle" (near by). for that reason Mathey-Tissot decided to use th...
I have this from a story about Madame Cinette Robert. They wrote about there personal history from child until owner from dubey & schaldenbrand (writen in chronos 3 - 2004). There they wrote, what i told in my post (and also for girad-perregaux). Mathey-T...
Nicolas, my english is not the best. They write, what I wrote in my post. But I try a little bit more exactly and I have a litte problem with „eingeschalte Uhren“ this is a wording from watchmaking - a watch (uhr in german) „einschalen“ means assembly the...
they wrote .... and supplyd under "private-label" contracts complete (look at my last post) watches ad best adresses like......... and in a new sentance they wrote they produced valjoux- movements on the authoroty This is descriped in my understanding as ...
-Valjoux and Universal Genève for the Chronograph movement. - ETA for the day date round movements of some of their watches from the 70ies. And I think I didn't forget anything else. Hence my interrogations... Back to this topic, there is one thing I...
And yes, I agree with you that Tissot made some beautiful watches in a sadly far past. Yours is a superb example, as well as the Tissot Navigator, a kind of World Time watch with a timeless look. Grandiose, as we say in France. Best, Nicolas.
i have a black dialled chrono with many similarities by Wakmann-Breitling. mine is of course from 1964. interestingly they are both made in France. i've not had the chance to write anything about it yet, but its interesting as the movement is marked Wakma...
thankyou my friend, you are correct about the year, purchased with advice from our friend Ubik. the hands are replacements and not for that particular model, but from another model of the same year so thats ok with me. i've had it about 4 months, but like...
The Summer is over – Vlad is back with his camera full of superb roof shots! A stunning watch, my friend! Great to have you back – hope you and your family had a great vacation! Best Blomman
It has a beautiful balance to it. Valjoux is a great movement and has the advantage of not being impossible on parts. An uncommon valjoux for a cognoscenti.
something was wrong by "insert" the post - so now more text : motivated by nicolas beautifull picture i found this morning the watch box in my "watch-boxes - Box" From the watch I had only a paper-foto left (sold the watch once) which i take a foto from t...
