Last weekend I was in NY and went to the MET to see an exhibit called “Play it Loud.” It consisted of musical instruments that were played by famous artists. Mainly guitars, I was blown away by what I saw. Enjoy!

John Lennon’s guitar that he played on the 1964 North American tour. I actually saw him play this guitar in 1964 in Portland, Oregon when I was 9 years old.

Ringo’s early drum set. Remember Ed Sullivan Show appearance?

Jimi Hendrix Woodstock guitar. He painted the design on it himself with nail polish.

Some detail.

A couple of Paul McCartney’s bass guitars, one decked out for the Jubilee celebration.

Jimmy Paige’s guitar that he used to record Stairway to Heaven with.

These are just a few samples. Amazing!
