Horological Meandering

It also depends on your wrist

I wear all my watches tight. I have to: I'm shaped like a walking skeleton so any loose watch (especially one of the heavy, slippery kind, which means almost all watches fitted with bracelets) would end up with the crown and pushbuttons pressed against the back of my hand.

Sometimes when it's hot or I go through intense physical acitivities the watch becomes very tight, but until now this did not seem to have any deleterious effect on the band. However, the side effect of having a very thin wrist become obvious when "parking" my watches on the winder: all non-adjustable bands (metal bracelets or leather bands with folding clasps) become stressed by the holding "pillow", to the point that I had one pin pop out while the watch was on the winder. BTW, my wife experienced a similar problem with a leather band: the watch end (glued, not stitched) just became undone while the watch was in the watch box.
