Interesting it will be !
I think the contest has the right to call itself international with 48
countries involved. I don't see, however, why they limited to
just those 48. We can hope that future contests will at least
include Japan, India and China too, to my knowledge the only big
watchmaking countries that are excluded.
I am sure that there are a couple of movements that will not be
eligable, but if they want to be representative of the industry there
are hardly any wristwatch movements above the approx. 34 or 35mm that
will fit in a 38.5mm 17 line case. Above that and you are
in pocketwatch territory, the 649X is a pocketwatch movement and is
36.6mm. If people like to strap pocketwatches on their arms is,
of course, another question

it's called an international event but seems to be open only to european countries. and why the limit on the size to 38mm if wristwatches are to be tested instead of pocketwatches to be more representative? Perhaps this may be an easy way out for those sp...
