Horological Meandering

Hi everyone, I'm looking into gmt sport watches of the GMT master II type. Even at 40mm, the gmt II is still big for my wrist. I believe the explorer 2 is also 40mm, which gives me another option. Looking at most of the other ones, I typically see sizes 4... 

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms (old style) GMT is about 40 even Blancpain Leman Dual Time (model 2160 i think) was 38mm UN GMT+- was made in a 39 and a 37mm case if I remember correctly Omega DeVille Coaxial GMT is about 38 or 39 AP made a Royal Oak dual timezon...

... since when it was presented, the GO watchmakers stated that the date was not synchronized with the local time, but with the small 24 hours hand. Imagine you are travelling from London to Los Angeles, and accordingly adjust the main hour hand on your G... 

. . . "small" in the title of his post, which would be an indication of aesthetic priority. He also indicated a fairly lax technical standard as well. The PMV isn't really a sports watch, of course, but a steel version on a bracelet is close enough for go... 

... I think the PanoMatic Venue is one of the most beautiful two timezones-watches on the market. Regards, Marcus

39mm, not too bulky, magnetically protected, good water resistance. If you want to go smaller, find a used Geral Genta "Night and Day" model at 36mm or an Omega co-axial De Ville GMT in the smaller version at around 35mm.

Don't waste your money on a GMT watch unless it has a full-size hour hand that can "jump." It's no fun to try to read the local time from a subdial, especially when you have jet lag. Also, it contains a whoppingly outdated movement, so much so that I thin...

Especially when I'm sleepy and the light is poor, something the size of a subdial is simply a blur to me. Even when I could see better, though, I felt that in making a GMT watch a company should go to the effort to make it as functional as possible.

can you please elaborate on your comments on the weak subdial movement vs. the jumping second hour hand for second time zone? I have always liked the subdial approach. thanks

For me, a dual time zone watch is for traveling. When I travel, I want to be able to set my watch so I can read the local time as easily as possible. On a dual time zone watch, one hour hand "jumps" to adjust for time zones while the other remains station... 

Your suggestions saved me a lot of time looking for the "look" and complication I wanted and THEN verifying the sizes. Tien

The Ulysse Nardin Dual Time is available in 40mm, but before, was also sold as a 38mm variant, that can still be found at the dealers. Here are some pics from my archive, shot by Dave: Marcus...  

It's vintage, and it's a tuning fork Bulova Accutron, but this Astronaut from 1968 is 36mm and has a GMT function....
