I tried on the 5370 of a friend and it feels like 11-12mm...it wears shockingly thin...not sure why.

But I will always go with thinner is better unless it introduces some sort of fatal flaw into the movement.

Lange double split is 15,3mm Montblanc is 14,5mm PP being the thinnest at 13,5mm but they're at different price category altogether !
I think the Lange movement depth is what it is...

...I don't think they started out saying 'Let's build a thick movement because it will look cool.' If they did then I would be very disappointed. I would much prefer they shave off a couple of mm while keeping the functionality/reliability.

But - as always - must be seen "live" I think. I saw a photo of it from the side, and it looked quite high. Judged by the photos the design of the case is such that it doesn't "disguise" the measured dimensions. But apart from that it looks very tempting ...
