I'll tell you what floats – I mean rows my boat...
The "paddle" second hand is one of two features that clearly distinguish the vintage IWC ref. 866 Ingenieurs (the other being the big crown). I have always really liked this paddle design, and found that it suits the design of the dial extremely well.

One of my favorite "seconds indicator"
The tourbillon cage doubles as a seconds indicator, and the lyre (or alternatively, Cygna) shape adds an element of whimsy and romance....
