I think you are right, and instead most of the gear train as well as the regulator use air tubulence. I changed my post. A bit to my credit, the press release was a bit scarce of information... Thanks for spotting this, Magnus

There are many questions remaining, not least whether watch lovers will accept it. Quartz is also more efficient in a way and much more precise yet... you know what I mean. Seeing gears move does something for us

If the movement could be made to work in a vacuum (pump supplied) then aerodynamics would no longer play a role. If then so ... The oils could evaporate and run amok. The slightest breach to the vacuum could be hazardouss. However that is NOT the case her...
