Hammered to me is using a hammer and a tool to make indentations. When I see this spherical geometric type pattern I think of guilloche which would have been made using a rose engine lathe.

Among the PPs I think I like the hammered bezel a little more.

And I personally prefer the lug-less design. But each of these pieces is a treasure in itself for me.

was looking for one from VC sometime ago...will prob re-start my search. Furlan Marri did its own which I thot was not too bad.

Yes, the Furlan Marri is nice.

My son graduates college in May. This (plus some of cash) could be perfect! The cash will be spent, but the watch is an acknowledgement of the milestone. Maybe one of the ones above when he lands his first job. He's taking a gap year and then graduate sch... 

Now the question is, since a watch is a very personal choice -

do I make it a surprise, or show him before to make sure he likes it. Yes, he'll appreciate the gift, but I also want him to thoroughly enjoy the watch.

I'm afraid. Maybe you can ask one of his clos friends or anybody who knows him well. If you have a strong doubt, why not show it to him before? Less exciting, but safer.

I also have a sweet spot for them. I have seen beautiful designs from other brands as well. Thank you for sharing!
