Female entry drug: Hands-on Tissot PR 50 Automatic Lady
Not only men have entry drugs - here is one for our girl-friends, fiancées, wives or even daughters: The Tissot PR 50 Automatic Lady :
With a price tag of only a few hundred CHF this automatic timepiece offers tremendous value: Swiss-made, with a tried and tested ETA movement, a nicely designed metal bracelet and a renowned brand name.
Of course one cannot expect haute horlogerie at this price level, but its still worth noting what effort were made to create an attractive watch. First, look at the different finishings:
Tissot tried to include as much contrast as possible: polished, brushed and sun-burst surfaces take their turns. The crystal is made of scratch-resistant sapphire, btw.
A dial close-up reveals the fine circular graining on the dial, as well as the clean date cutouts and the precise printing.
The bracelet looks much more than its price suggests, with polished enter elements frames by brushed links.
The remainder of the case is brushed. This conceals a bit of the watch's thickness (due to the standard ETA movement). Note the customised crown with the brand's large 'T' symbol.
The case back is made of a nicely executed solid piece of metal with clean engravings. You also see that the bracelet is made of stamped elements, not surprising given the market segment.
On the wrist: the Tissot has quite some presence. Its certainly not a surprise that this might well be the entry drug for many (girl-friends, fiancées, wives or even daughters)...
Did you use a similar female timepiece to get your better half's/family's approval?
Cheers,
Magnus
