Dubai Watch Week…with fellow purists.
Not a photo heavy report, because Patrick Y is working on one.
This was my first watch show ever, and I had a great time meeting with fellow purists (Patrick and others). It was also awesome interacting with the movers and shakers in the watch industry. Thanks to a very cool and generous fellow purist, I got to enjoy a leisurely lunch with none other than Rexhepi Rexhep himself; a wonderfully humble and talented passion watchmaker, and a nice guy in general.
Several other purists were supposed to come, but the post-COVID work-demands stood in the way. Hope to see more purists in the next DWW, inshallah (as we like to say in this part of the world).
I’ll leave you with a photo of some Arabic calligraphy signed notebooks that Patrick and I got at a GP event.

My first watch show
All delayed by the Covid. I do not curse often, but damn covid. Beautiful GP’s.
Hoping to meet at the next wonderful horological gathering.
Alas, I knew that I couldn’t match Patrick’s upcoming report. So I just feasted my eyes, ears (there were a few minute repeaters) and tactile senses (those Ferdinand berthoud’s wind like butter).
There are definitely some amazing WatchProSite members at DWW!

Agreed. I’d like to think that we elevated the level of horological discussion.
But humility tells me to shhh. See you around Patrick, and thanks for showing me the ropes (ditch the talks, hit the master classes and talk directly to the watchmakers)
