I never wanted an oil-filled Ressence, even though that's what the company is known for, so when I saw this "simple" Type 8 version, I bought it on the spot. It's super light, all in titanium (even the dial) and it wears great due to the lack of lugs. It ...

...the one that started it all I too prefer a no-date dial, but if you can swing it I'd suggest that you ADD instead of substitute
