Horological Meandering

But Horologically Speaking,

I'm really not a "watch collector"; rather, I'm a "watch wearer".  If I'm not wearing a watch, I invariably have no desire let it sit around collecting dust.  And as a practical matter and financially-speaking, my "sweet spot", in terms of number of watches, is 3.  Right now, I have 3 watches I love and so I'd have to say that these days, I'm really not looking to make any changes.  I'd guess this will hold true for the next 2-5 years.

That said, and looking at it on a model-buy-model basis, what would it take to switch it out for another piece????

Richard Lange - The only thing that would cause me to trade this away is winning Lotto or Powerball, which would enable me to trade for a new high-complication piece from either Patek or Lange.  Or perhaps a Laurent Ferrier or Philippe DuFour....

Glashutte Original -- If my daughter decided to relinquish her inheritance claim and I had some spare $$, I might start to think about a trade-up to something else.  But since the likelihood of this happening is less than 2%, this is not something I dwell on I haven't really gamed-out this options.  The watch has some intrinsically unique value because I was one of the lucky ones to get the sapphire display back installed by G.O. when it was possible to do so (back in 2008).

Rolex Sub - This is pretty much my stopping-place in the quest for a metal bracelet dive watch/daily beater.  I really can't see any change here at any time over at least a 5-8 year horizon.

So, I think my penchant for trading-up-and-up may be ending.
