Horological Meandering

Back to the future !

In London, ran into a remarkable chap with a huge 80 piece Zenith collection amongst other pieces. Was fortunate enough to have him sell me a watch that I consider an icon.  This one dates from 1975, and was produced for that year only to celebrate Bulova's 100 year anniversary. I am not too familiar with the history of this watch, but understand that the 360 hertz tuning fork technology really bridged the gap between mechanical and quartz before becoming obsolete.

This watch incredibly, is NOS coming with price tags attached. I almost wish it was used, and after 38 years of being in a box, I find it hard to start wearing it !  It runs perfectly, and the previous owner was kind enough to put in a new battery. No idea what the community here think of this watch. I am not even too sure I will keep it, as it is not really my style. I do however find the design absolutely fascinating. What do you think? Is this watch iconic?

I present to you the Bulova Accutron Spaceview 100th Anniversary edition from 1975 as I excitedly prepare to eat some delicious Lebanese food in South Kensington.
