A great time in Switzerland visiting Chillon Castle...

Aug 07, 2019,17:29 PM

After a hectic first half year hardly leaving me any free time, holiday time finally came to give me a real good break.

And what better location could there be for holidays than Switzerland for people like us? Well for me the choice was made easily to once again enjoy this place although I was already here just 3 months ago for a long weekend with friends. But this time enjoying visiting with my wife...

Chillon is the oldest castle in Switzerland and is really worth visiting. In its current formโ€™ Chillon Castle is the result of several centuries of different constructions and alterations. The small rocky island on which the castle is built acted both as a protection and a strategic location to control movement between the north and south of Europe. The castleโ€™s history starts in the Savoy era in the 12th century...
But surely some pics will speak better than words... ๐Ÿ˜‰

From the castle the view is breathtaking in many places...

Of course the mandatory wrist shots had to be here to confirm that I came with a decent attire...๐Ÿ˜‰

Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoy the place ๐Ÿ˜‰

Brings back great memories when I visited Geneva almost yearly and then driving through Vevey, Montreaux and on towards Aigle. Chateau Chillon was always an interesting stop along the way.

For me it is almost a yearly pilgrimage to go and visit my friends but I must admit that it is much easier for me as I am not as far from Switzerland as you are
