A few impressions of the Longines "Tuxedo" chronograph.

I really do like the Heritage series from Longines celebrating some of the truly great designs from their glorious past.

The Tuxedo series is amongst my favorites from this Heritage line,be it the 3 hand model or the chronograph.

The chronograph is based on a model from 1943. Although bigger than the original, all of the dial proportions have been respected.

A very attractive bi-compax dial.

Great attention to detail.

Good legibility.

An interesting (40 mm) case design with alternating polished and brushed surfaces,

Good decision to go for a closed caseback for this kind of watch.

A special mention for the movement : an ETA exclusive development for Longines to allow for correct spacing between the sub-dials with silicon hairspring and spot-on accuracy.
Add to this the fair price point and the 5-year warranty and you can't go wrong!

It is definitely one of these watches that makes me feel that most of my other watches are shamelessly overpriced !!

Thanks for looking,
Gerard

As for the watch, I just played with it yesterday and ordered one myself, it’s an incredible watch that punches way above its weight. I was surprised to have all the key elements that make a great watch present here(pleasant winding resistance, hacking se...

Good decision to order one of those.

It will for sure give you a lot of wearing pleasure.

Switch the strap to a BoR bracelet…

… and you are good to go!!

I was torn between the 3 hand model and the chronograph.

But then I can hardly resist a well made chronograph .... These two are visually quite distinct and could well be a nice pair within a collection!

Agreed. Both great choice!

Yes,the case design looks unconvential at first view.

But more so on pictures than on the wrist where it visually helps to reduce the perceived height of the case. The wearing comfort is btw excellent also due to shorter and stronger curved lugs than those typical for most other Longines Heritage timepieces....

Best Longines offer in years

But there were several references in this thread to price or price point. Did I miss the price somewhere? I am curious what the retail price is. I realize I can (will google it) but is it a forum rule not to post price or did I just overlook it here. It i...
