A Certain Light....... *life and death."

Guys,
Have you ever had a watch you loved, loved, loved....... until.... FATALLY! You saw it in a certain light, that 'killed' it. The way the dial looked, the subdials like some idiotic 'face' or some cartoony eyes and mouth.... or maybe the way a black dial glares and gets streaks of blurriness on it... or the whole dial becomes illegible...and the image of the way that light hit the dial... sticks in your mind even in different light... and ruins the watch...
I have never had this happen to me. 
Kidding....
No, this has happened to me many times, as the life and death of my watches depends on how the watch looks in my office... where I work. Sometimes I forget this... then I'll put the watch on just to spend the day out and about and remember how much I love the thing!
Has ' a certain light' ever killed a watch for you?
Or brought one back to life?

...although perhaps not quite so drastic as a question of Life or Death. There are one or two watches that slip under the radar. They look fantastic in all the marketing shots. They look fantastic in the forum posts. They look fantastic under the carefull...

I can easily imagine the wrong light too... black complicated dials... glad you've kept it! Many years ago, I almost bought a Zenith perpetual... which seemed GIGANTIC at 44mm... ah the sweet innocence of youth... but I thought at the time it seemed a lit...

Happened to me...I have a watch that I love with all my soul and suddenly I noticed that on certain lights one of the hands is kind of opaque. Noticing it destroyed the concept of perfection that object had for me and certainly every time I see the watch ...

I think this is an aspect of 'collecting' not often discussed--'sudden death' syndrome... Well, back to collecting!
