Some weeks ago has been Girls Day in Austria. It is a series of events organised by companies, trying to get girls / women interested in more technical professions. Mine is three, and fully convinced she will be either a physician or a firefighter, so ins...

Its great to start her young. The flick flack she will always remember.

I have a young son similar age to your daughter and he loves watches, I look forward to passing on my watches and someone loving them as much as I did, im sure you will have many more watch and daughter bonding time in the future! Cheers, Cam

I am sure there will be many more. She also has a mechanical watch already - a NOS Fortis Mini Flipper (finding something mechanical today is difficult). So, where have you started with your son on watches, then? ...

A Casio g shock and

A little car wrap Quartz watch he enjoys both but always seems to want to play with dads watches lol, I like that he is keen! Cheers Cam p.s the fortis is cool, gives me something to ponder for my little fella.

A Casio may be another good idea :)

As for the Fortis, they are not that difficult to find and relatively cheap

Thanks KmII,

For your very kind and thoughtful summary

I thought no Purists under 13 allowed? ;)

Not a bad idea - although eloquence may suffer a bit. It's the ticking, winding and design for the moment, as far as I can tell

I just realized that both the flik flak and the swatch have outer 5-10-15...-60 and inner 1-12 indices... the flik flaks (both versions!) are actually pilot watches in disguise!

Birds of a feather Like father like daughter. Your choices get better and better with a little inspection. She knows more than you think, I think!!

Now that's an aspect that I did not look at :)

 By: KMII : May 12th, 2017-06:25
You are definitely right - she generally knows more than I think

Sweet post my friend and congrats for your two new toys (the Sistem51 is really interesting in my opinion both aesthetically and from an horological point of view)

Deal done LOL :-)

You are absolutely right

The most important thing that parents should do is to let young kids explore and enjoy things in life.

Wonderfully said :)

It may happen that watches will not be her hobby as much as mine but the time spent together with her - as MasterCard would say, priceless

I think it is

great to be able to share the same interests if they are there. It indeed creates a bond and it opens their perspectives other than the digital world which is tremendously available at this moment. Reading time old skool style is something new and differe...

Thanks for your thoughts, sc16!

And you are so right on the availability and easy appeal of the digital world - to both adult and child. This made for a great change of pace

Not sure whether Blomman's son is a couple of days younger or older :)

As you said...
