It's really hard seeing these prices. It wasn't that long ago that you could buy a vintage timepiece with some history, some charm, wear the heck out of it, appreciate its place in history, enjoy it for what it is. Now prices are quadrupled, or more; vintage watches are exceeding the reach of the average admirer faster than the speed of the internet and are fast becoming investment pieces that are posted in Instagram only go back into the safe, dare they get scratched. I don't want to say (to steal a line from my favorite musician) 'the thrill is gone,' but it is certainly fading fast. Damn.
