The masculinity of a watch depends on the masculinity of the man. A bulky, technical sport watch could look like an over-reach on an arm that could use some time in the gym, but an elegant and dressy watch, styled as this one is for simplicity more than bling, will not undermine the masculinity of an arm that HAS seen time in the gym.

Elegance may be a forgotten trait of masculinity, but it is never really out of style.

Why is this a ladies watch?!

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-04:39
I would have thought it could be classified as a unisex watch. It measures 37mm x 28.6mm with a height of 8.4mm. It has been made with the input from Romain Gauthier who was also responsible for Chanel's Jump Hour watch as Chanel has bought a share in Rom...

I like the English expressions, when it comes to gender

Man and woman. A woman is a -man with WOOOOO! as a prefix πŸ˜€. Back to the watch: the dimensions are fine to call it unisex. Try it on and if you like It, buy it. I deed, a very nice watch!

Excellent advice πŸ˜‰ [nt]

The question I always ask myself before buying a watch

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-05:49
is usually what else can I do with the same amount of money and in this case it is USD40,600??!! Unfortunately, a necessary question when one has a budget. Laurent Ferrier in steel perhaps or a Groenfeld Principa?

I must confess

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-05:55
that I am not brave enough to buy a watch without trying it on which means I have missed out on some pieces like Rexhep Rexhepi's Chronometre Contemporain. Oh well, can't have them all

A very, very tempting idea, from me now:

Wooomen usually do not buy used watches. I am sure this watch will be bargain on the secondary market ...

Your strategy is brilliant!

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-06:06
I await in anticipation!

Thank you for your advice!

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-05:46
Trying a watch on is the ultimate deal breaker or deal maker!

Thank you for your feedback.

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-05:51
Perhaps it is because the watch is called 'boyfriend'??!!

Chanel were probably hoping for

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-05:57
girlfriends like yours!!

Hell, I'm hoping . . .

 By: Dr No : August 1st, 2019-08:49
. . . for a girlfriend like Fab's.

Oooh that hurts! :-)

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-10:28
She is one lucky girl though

My girlfriend was with me last month at the barbershop . . .

. . . and while she was scanning thru a magazine, she came across a photo . . . . . . like this. She showed it to me. "Now I know why you like Omega," said she. I turned to her. "Now I know why you like Omega." ;-) Of course, it helps to look just like Ja...

Who cares?! :-)

You are the lucky one with the girlfriend and the Subway!!

A few more Subways . . .

 By: Dr No : August 1st, 2019-10:42
. . . and she might be gone ;-) . . .

The trick

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-10:44
is to share your subways. Buy a 12 inch and give her six inches!!! That should make her happy

Wait 'til they hear . . .

. . . my Lemmy story.

I think she is a piece unique!! :-)

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-10:27
I can vouch for that as I have been looking around diligently!!

Look at it this way, any watch a man wears is, by definition, a man's watch.

It looks great. Watch CEOs often seem as though they have never spoken to an actual woman (MG and JLC are examples of exceptions!). So, who cares what a brand labels as for one gender or another?

Too right!

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-06:09
Which is why half my watches could be worn by women as I have a 'ladies sized wrist'!

Nobody will say:"Hang on! That is a ladies watch!" ...

By: COUNT DE MONET : August 1st, 2019-06:12
... but many will say:"Waht an interesting piece!". That is all: I ran out of selling points for this watch now πŸ€” ...

There are many more interesting variants in this Chanel lineup

 By: cazalea : August 1st, 2019-06:53
Mostly limited editions of varying sizes. Here are some that caught my eye: Beige gold with diamonds 47,000 Close-up view Cloisonne enamel 67,000 euro Tweed metal dial 4500 euro ...

Yes I noticed them too Mike, thank you.

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-10:25
But i thought I would opt for the most masculine piece in the collection!

Personally I like the look and price of the Tweed

 By: cazalea : August 1st, 2019-10:32
Skeleton is magnificent but above my pay grade Mike

The tweed is lovely but

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-10:37
for the date which if omitted would have been a lot better in my opinion with no break in the pattern. I have little doubt that the skeleton is within your pay grade my modest friend

Chanel owe you a commission Count! :-)

I could not have put what you said any better

so thank you for your reply. Elegance and class are subjective but it does not need to be proven. One either has it or does not.

Bravo!

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-11:18
I would too but I wish manufacturers would stop classifying their watches as men's or ladies. Let us make the decision ourselves. It can only be good for the manufacturer.

Thank you for your feedback and encouragement!

I always feel once a watch has no diamonds, there is every possibility that it could fit a man or a woman depending on the wrist size and the watch size. Then again, in some cultures, diamonds are worn comfortably by men.

men or ladies watch? Unisex etc..

 By: Weems@8 : August 1st, 2019-13:51
It is a good question and a good thread. Should a man wear a ladies watch? Do a man have the guts to wear a feminan watch? I am as an old fashioned dude and sometimes a modern dude, like mostly classy round watches. Timeless design which can live forever....

Chanel will always sound feminine

 By: sham1 : August 1st, 2019-20:38
as it remains a designer for female apparel and unlike its competitors has always remained faithful to that philosophy. However, its rapid development in haute horology has gone largely unnoticed and I think it will take a while for many to consider it a ...
