Chronograph : the venerable Lemania and the others...

Dear all,


What do you think of the venerable Lemania movement (picture below) compared with the more recent movements from Patek or Lange ?

Of course the Lange Dato is more sexy to look at and the Patek has a longer power reserve, etc. 
However, in terms of reliabillity and durability, do you think the Lemania is still at the top ?
I ask because I am considering a VC perpetual chronograph and when you buy a 100 000 euros watch, you want more than "correct" !!!

then you are probably best served with a 7750 Joking aside, I am not sure this is a sensible metric to buy a six-figure-watch, in that range it is mainly about what "gets" you emotionally. For myself, for example, the Dato movement excites me and is a sel...

I think the lemania 2327 or the movement that served as the base for the patek ch 27-70q or the movement found in the vacheron constantin chronograph "les historiques" is a proven perfomer, it has been concepted in the forties and tested successfully with...
