Both a great in their own way

I too have been looking for a nice skeleton. The PP and AP are way outside of my price range and this I have also been focusing on the GP and Piaget.

I have handled the GP several times as I am very keen on it. The Piaget only once. Both are very nice but IMHO the approach to skeletonisation is different. Both are modern. But The GP takes a much more “airy and open” style- a lot of the bridges, etc are gone. This has resulted in an almost “deliberate look” of a spider’s web as opposed to a watch movement. The Piaget seems takes a more “traditional” style and the skeletonisation follows the structure of the movement much more. Both are great examples of the art of skeletonisation and both are fantastic value. My preference is the GP.

Dare I also say, the finishing on the GP seems a notch better than the Piaget- more internal angles.

Either way you can’t go wrong!

Chi Kai

Please give me some advice about the skeleton model. Which do you recommend, GP or Piaget?

Recently, I’ve been interested in a simple skeleton model with a mechanic structure. Of course I considered a suitable piece in the PP model, but I couldn't find it in the PP. # 5180 focuses on decoration and # 5303 is too complicated Therefore, the best ...

It's hard to make a choice.... and it happens so often....

Quick question. Have you had the chance to see both in person and try them on ? As is always mentioned, pics can be extremely deceiving. I have been shocked when I saw a watch in person, which was a beauty in a pic, and which turned out to be a true disap...

Yep, I'm afraid the two models closest to what you are looking for in Patek's current catalog are the 5180 (now offered in R gold only) and the 5303 -- nothing simpler than that.

My vote probably goes for the GP here -- one of the most interesting watches this Brand has to offer, in my view. I'm moving the thread to our HoMe section, which is more appropriate for this topic. Cheers.

Pleasure👍🥂

you can do it

If you prefer the AP, I don't think there are any other skeletonized dials quite like it.

If you like a baroque style of skeletonization, more like the PP, and your focus is on the skeletonization rather than the movement, then there are much less expensive offerings from Jochen Benzinger. Benzinger also offers customization, I believe, so may...

Both the GP and Piaget are great choice !

You can't go wrong with either. Personally, I have a new found love for Piaget since this year. I find them very elegant and special. The Polo Skeleton is a great blend of sports chic and pure elegance. Here are some pics I took (watches belong to Piaget ...

Most welcome :)

I think the GP looks far better, especially the all black ceramic version if you can find one at a decent price. They make another blue and black ceramic version too that is nice, but personally I love the all-black look.

Those are the best times when your having to make decisions 😉

Having experienced the AP and the Piaget I can give you my feedback. I’m a huge fan of AP however the skeleton doesn’t do it for me as it doesn’t complete the Royal oak package which for me is the bracelet and beautiful Tapisserie dial. The Piaget on the ...

The Octo finissimo skeleton might be a consideration too. Just a thought, Brian

In my recent post on Piaget, this thread contained a photo of skeletonized watches. Below are more photos. Both look quite interesting in the metal ! What do you want think of these two Piagets ? I love the blue ! ...
