Melbourne WatchBand Breakup!

 By: AndrewD : October 10th, 2012-20:11
No salacious gossip, just an early Christmas GTG for the WatchBand over good food, wine and great conversation. All of it lubricated by horology. One interstate visitor flew down for the event and other friends were missed. But we will be back again in th...

Oh, I thought this was going to be a dramatic post!

LOL! Looks like a fun time was had! Lots of cool watches. I like those Smiths. I'm always tempted when I see them come up. Until 2013 WatchBand-mates! Cheers, Daos

Thanks to everyone for a great evening

Good to catch up properly with some people, and get my greasy hands all over some lovely watches. I only had an iphone on me, so moody action shots are all I can contribute....

Love the perspective and atmosphere. The official photographer managed not to topple into the watches! Great night. Thanks again! Andrew

Thanks to all who attended, especially those from interstate - it was a great night. The star of the night for me was the VC jump hour, which I've only seen before in pictures. 36mm, based on the very attractive cal 1120, and some lovely guilloche work on...

Who is the most obsessive, pedantic, finicky, compulsive Purist I wonder?! Great shots under difficult conditions. And great to catch up again. Andrew ...

While it expresses itself in quite different ways, it might be a close run thing ;) I just checked the talking phone clock (my source of 'correct' time). The plastic fantastic was +1 second fast. It really does hold quite a good rate... Great to catch up ...

the jump hour....

 By: aptronym : October 11th, 2012-04:00
...yes it works properly, with a nice crisp 'jump' at the change of the hour. The size may seem small to some people but it sits really well, comfortably, and in my admittedly very personal opinion, it's a great size; any bigger and it would not be as dis...

You guys you guys.....

....this isn't the 'final' GTG for the year, is it?!? But what about (looks in his general direction) pplater? I must admit that I did rather enjoy some of the 'shocked expressions' when I gatecrashed (for which I send thanks to Theobold), though the one ...
