Not a horological matter but one that really made me upset and angry today....
So I got a new Audi Q5 from a dealer in UK.
I was supposed to collect it last week Thursday, but early Thursday afternoon got an email from my sales assistant that during the Pre Delivery Inspection they noticed that the paint has some blemishes and they need to sort them out...
It was quite annoying as I cancelled my insurance on my then current car (A5) that I was selling back to the same dealer I was getting a Q5 from. As a “goodwill gesture “ they gave me a loan car. A4 Avant.
Today, I was supposed to collect the car.
All the blemishes were supposed to be fixed and paint protection put on. Also, I did mention to them that to remove the badges (Q5, TFSI).
When the sales peron unveiled the car I straightaway noticed (black metallic paint) that there were a lot of micro scratches/smears all over the bonnet, roof etc.
The places where Audi “removed” the initial blemishes were looking hideous. With almost grey hue to the area they’ve “fixed”.
On top of that the badges were not removed.
Question is, am I being unreasonable demanding my car that cost me nearly £50k to look good?
Got the manager involved but all he could do was to apologise and get the car detailed externally!!
Now I’m left nearly another week without my Q5 with the loan car. And my Q5 is going to be sorted out by a contractor.
How do I approach the subject of reimbursement? By the time I collect the car next week I would have wasted nearly 2 weeks of my insurance. They’ve got my payment even earlier. Nearly 3 weeks ago.
I’m really annoyed as I’m not the one who tries to find a fault everywhere but in this case the dealership just chanced it hoping I won’t see the poor paintwork.
Bit of a long post from my side but I really am annoyed as hell!
Best
Stan
