Neither of the two. The Vacheron dial is just awkward, the Patek let’s me completely cold

I feel the same way concerning the Patek and concerning the mandatory perfection at such a price range.
Concerning the dial of the VC, I feel differently: I find it interesting and quite nice. Best, Emmanuel

I'd have to hear them in person, but I suspect the PP feels better on the wrist and sounds better. Like the look of the VC, but I suspect it'd be the PP. Dreamy repeaters...
I like the size of the PP better,
as well as the back tourbillon. It also probably sounds better. But the look is absolutely not for me. Even with its drawbacks the VC speaks to me more… 🤷🏽♂️ Best, Emmanuel

If I had the money, I'd perhaps hunt a vintage repeater. Clean, time only. Maybe a VC with teardrop lugs?
In this price range I would opt for the

Being a Grande Double Sonnerie, the BP is clearly one step beyond.
So, it's definitely a very strong contender. But the openwork aesthetic isn't for me. I would still pick the VC, personally... Best, Emmanuel

While I don't mind transparent dials...
I would much prefer a more traditional design for such watches. The 5216P (one of my grail) would be an wonderful substitute. The VC size and design do not appeal to me as well.

and I hesitated to make the comparison with the 5216, but it didn't work as well imo, because the design of the VC is very special, almost a bit strange, so I had to find another unusual design... That's why I ended up choosing the 5316 as a contender to ...

Both amazing and beautiful pieces. I think the Patek had a slight advantage as its a bit more casual to wear imo
