Hi All
It's been a while since I've posted, mainly because I'm feeling inadequate because I have yet to pony up the $$ for a digital camera to post pictures of my watches. Anyway, my current 3-watch line-up, that covers all occasions, is as follows:
"The Knock-Around" -- Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean -- Co-Axial, 45 mm case, Black Bezel, Orange Number Markers at 6, 9 & 12, Solid Steel Bracelet. Bullet-proof and accurate movement. I actually have been swimming with it on a daily basis. And yes, 45 mm is for me, with my 7.75 inch wrist.. The AR coating on the crystal is terrific -- additing to its already great legibility. In my opinion a better watch than its Rolex competitor (SD), mainly due to my dislike of the chintzyness (I thinnk) of Rolex's bracelets, and clearly a much better buy.
"The Office Daily Wearer" -- Glashutte Original Senator Navigator Panoraman Date (Cal.100) -- Pound-for-pound, my favorite watch. Still posting amazing accuracy (+1-2 seconds per day). Love that second reset button and the luminescence. The strap has definitely settled-in as one I like and no, I don't miss the display back (I seriouisly doubt I'd take G.O. up on any offer to put one on). Do I miss not buying the IWC Big Pilot? Not on your life....
"Special Occasions" -- Glasnutte Originial Senator Karree Manual WInd Cal. 22 (18K Gold with Crocodile Strap) -- This has settled into the role of the "special occasions" watch, to be worn only in a dress or formal occasion. My comments on both this watch (positive) and my feelings about owning a watch in 18K gold (it has it's plusses and minuses) have been addressed elsewhere. A great design and one of the best tonneau-shaped watches I've seen on the market.
I'm pretty happy with this line-up, but already mulling the next addition. Maybe a G.O Pano? Something from VC? Any thoughts from you folks? Once my daughter comes back from college with our digital camera (my wife has forbidden me from getting my own...my daughter scarfed our good one....) maybe then I'll post something on line.
Regards, All (and keep those beautiful pictures coming, Jocke)
