Glashütte Original

Some good, some bad...

I probably posted something similar before. If so, bear with me. I am unsure of which version I prefer - this is both good and bad news. In a positive light, as a current owner, this means that I would be a potential customer if I did not own the old version. In a negative light, one might expect that the new version would be an unequivocal improvement over the outgoing model, although this is not usually the case when the original design is already successful.

  • Things I prefer in the new version: (1) the more elegant time subdial; (2) luminous material on the hour and minute hands; (3) more legible markings on the totalizer.
  • Things I prefer in the old version: (1) less empty space between the date / totalizer and the right edge of the dial, echoing Christopher's sentiments.
