. . . the Panomatic Chrono was my favorite 'heavyweight' until the introduction of the Senator Chronometer . My sense is that it's one of the least appreciated and most underestimated modern chronographs . . . cordially, Art
Thank you Art, I pick this beauty up from a fellow collector here. In fact, I don't know much about history of this watch apart that its purchased date around 2005. Would you mind to share some expert knowledge and this watch and its historical important.
. . . was my second G O, Yong. I was smitten then by the fusion of multiple complications with the symmetry of the dial design, and still find it compelling. The reason for parting was to fund a third Karree perpetual. In retrospect, the cost was higher t...
. . . with your seven-link bracelet-equipped Glashüttes! The third photo reminds me of a baseball joke . . . Q: What do you do to an elephant with three balls? A: Walk him and pitch to the tiger.
... but hope to soon. took this in an AD's, the umpteen time that I've admired it. Taken by a (fairly) capable phone camera. warmest regards and thanks, Willis
Im not sure if the Navigator Perpetual in rose gold was released in 2008 or 2009 but its still showing on the Glashutte website. They were release in a limited edition of 100 pieces, I going to do a write up on the watch shortly. Its a great piece! Tony
Not mine, unfortunately, but rather the Senator Chronometer that Art has used to kick off this photo thread. Taken with the light of the setting sun in the car park of the Rainbow Bar & Grill in LA. Andrew...
I am not an artist, obviously.... I tried to upload the photo from HDD, but for some reason, I couldn't. Any problem on the server side? Or is my PC or firewall setting somewhat wrong? Any help is much appreciated! Ken...
. . . differing precious metals, Romans vs Arabics, conventional crown vs onion, cal 100 vs cal 49. Finding more variety within a closely matched pair would be quite a feat . . .
OK, let me try... This one is completely raw. No cropping, editing or photoshopping in any way. This one is lightly toasted. I used the on-camera grainy B & W filter option to take this photo. No cropping, editing or photoshopping otherwise. This one is l...
High praise indeed. Just between you and me, that last shot started out as a wristshot but after about 10 goes I still couldn't get it right and then it dawned on me to hold the watch instead to get that angle right. It certainly turned out well. I hope y...
. . . subliminal symbolism, Richard. The arc of the moon phase indicator set against the arcs of Sidney Harbor Bridge and the arced roofs of the Sidney Opera House makes for a deeply compelling image. Well done, sir.
Having once owned a Sport Evo and as a current owner of a brand I know you like (UTS), I was wondering if you had any thoughts or observations you can share regarding the Caliber 39 movement inside the G.O. and (or "versus", I should say...) the ETA 2890 ...
Hey DB, I keep meaning to respond to your PM (is it enough to say that I LOVE UTS?), but life always intrudes, as they say. Anyway, to answer your question, I feel that the ETA 2892 family of movements compares quite favorably to the cal. 39 in terms of a...
...YES! Not to stray too off-topic here, but it's hard not to love what Herr Spinner is doing in his shop in Munich. And for someone like me who absolutely loves his unique aesthetic, UTS watches are nothing but win. UTS may not be close to being a match ...
. . . PP's submission clearly shows the open space between movement and case; the movement is suspended on four elastic mounts that absorb shock, much like the shock absorbers or struts in an automobile.
from the former western and eastern parts of Germany. Thought that the upcoming 20th anniversary of the German reunification would be a great occasion to bring together these two cool engines: The Image is slightly denoised and sharpened (I need a better ...
. . . the A3 TDI is one of my favorite driving machines?! Currently driving a Honda Civic, after driving GTIs for the past several years. While the Civic appeals to my rational side, it does little to inspire. I understand there might be a VW version of t...
That's funny that there are not manual transmissions in your country. When I rented a car in California 12 years back, only automatic transmissions were available. The transmission of the one one we got was quite a mess on winding mountain roads; a waste ...
First I start with my lovely Panomaticlunar. Another GO brick in the wall. I have resize, adjust colors, light and contrast. Next will be something colorful. Resize, color, ligth and contrast adjustments. And my Senator chronograph in black and white to g...

who consider pain a pleasure. I simply love this watch since I was allowed to try it in Basel, but at the moment I cannot go for it. What a pain! For my personal taste the steel version is far better than the two golden ones for its certain stealth. (Did ...
And yes, I find (some kinds of) pain a pleasure. As you, I think the SS is much better looking than the gold ones. This is all about taste. You are welcome. I will take the hurting as a pleasure too. Thanks. Vte
